Peter Sheridan discusses Sydney's Art Deco architecture and presents an overview of Deco styling around Sydney. His talk offers a unique insight into the lifestyle of Sydneysiders in the 1930s and 1940s through examples of fashion and furniture, and with reference to some of Australia's best artists who lived and painted in Sydney - from the paintings of Margaret Preston, Grace Cossington Smith, and Roland Wakelin, to photographers Harold Cazneaux and Max Dupain.
Peter's book, 'Sydney Art Deco', has been long-listed as a finalist in the Illustrated Non-Fiction section of the prestigious Indie Book Awards for 2020.
