The Historic Houses Association tour of the region's delights takes us into the heartland of NSW. On this four-day tour we sample some of the lesser known heritage wonders beyond the Blue Mountains - from homesteads and gardens - to colonial period homes and private estates. Join us on a journey of discovery through Bathurst, Kelso, Carcoar and Canowindra with heritage experts providing insights into the area's layered histories and showing how our built heritage and landscapes has been preserved, adapted and transformed by private owners and custodians.
We are welcomed into private houses -Clifton (1860's coaching inn); Alloway Bank, the Colonial Georgian Estate of Captain John Piper and Macquarie, a 27 room homestead at one of the oldest farms in the country. A 5 course degustation awaits your at the renowned Hatted restaurant Tonic in Millthorpe.Explore Noojee Lea's homestead with gardens designed by Paul Bangay and explore six some of the most beautiful homes in Canowindra. Highlights include a tour of the Hardy Wilson designed Montrose House followed by a mid-winter feast featuring regional providores and organic wines at Rosnay Homestead.
