Dr Ian Hoskins, North Sydney Council historian, leads an in-depth examination of the career of Bertrand James Waterhouse (1876-1965), who was regarded as one of the most outstanding residential architects in Sydney in the early 20th century.

We begin with a lecture at May Gibbs' Nutcote followed by a walk to take in examples of Waterhouse's work in the locale. Morning tea and scones at Nutcote is included!

Waterhouse's work on domestic architecture, found in the Neutral Bay and Cremorne areas, shows an early following of the Arts & Crafts Movement.

'Nutcote' was designed in the early 1920s and is a wonderful example of his later interest in a more Mediterranean style, influenced by travels he took back to Britain and in particular, Spain.

Be sure to book now to avoid missing a spot at this always popular tour.
